Henry Cavill is proving himself as quite the action superstar with his latest role as the son of a spy forced to clean-up his father’s mess in The Cold Light of Day.

While vacationing with his family, Cavill’s character takes a solo trip into town for supplies. When he returns to their boat, his family has been kidnapped. He pulls out all of the stops to get them back, but finds himself privy to information he could have never imagined.

His father (Bruce Willis) has been posing as a business consultant in an overseas embassy to cover up his true job as a member of the CIA. Whoever took his family wants something his father has and they aren’t asking nicely. A smorgasbord of paranoia and basic instincts will go a long way to bring his family home safely.

The trailer is packed with quick action shots, glimpses of cast members and some brief plot explanation. In other words, it looks like a very run of the mill thriller. If you don’t believe us, take a look for yourself.

Check out the trailer and let us know what you think.

The Cold Light of Day is coming to theaters on April 6th, 2012.
