Thankfully, there’s a new Marvel movie on the horizon that aims to do just that. Its name? Ant-Man and the Wasp, Peyton Reed’s imminent sequel that’s about to offer up a “breath of fresh air.” Or so says Kevin Feige.

The Marvel Studios president has been speaking to press (h/t Screen Rant) in anticipation of Scott Lang’s next solo adventure, one in which he shares the stage with Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp (and not a moment too soon), and it was here where Feige was quizzed about the energetic, entertaining spirit of Ant-Man and the Wasp and, more specifically, how it sets itself apart from Joe and Anthony Russo’s aforementioned epic.

Our fans went through a lot recently in a movie called Infinity War and the whole notion to have a breath of fresh air, and to have some fun… and to have some, I think, surprising emotion [between] Scott Lang and his daughter.

Cassie, Scott Lang’s daughter, has already been tipped for a big MCU future (Stature, perhaps?), so we’ll be keeping a close eye on their father-daughter bond as it continues to blossom.

For Ant-Man and the Wasp, though, their mission involves a deep dive into Marvel’s Quantum Realm, where they must rescue Michelle Pfeiffer’s Janet van Dyne, the original Wasp, from the clutches of death. Doing so won’t be easy, of course, as the Quantum Realm is essentially the MCU equivalent of a black hole, but their adventure is not without its rib-tickling moments.

Indeed, Guardians director James Gunn has already gone on record to hail Ant-Man and the Wasp as a fun-filled adventure that’s not to be missed. Only nine days to go…
