Another Rumored Title For Avengers 4 Surfaces Online
The following post contains MASSIVE spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War, so continue on at your own discretion. Oh, and don’t tell Thanos, otherwise we may feel the full wrath of all six Infinity Stones.
As things stand, the title of Avengers 4 is a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, nestled in some far-flung corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Exactly when it’ll be revealed is still up for question, but if there’s one thing Kevin Feige regrets, it’s the decision to withhold said moniker and allow online speculation to fester. And fester it has.
As a matter of fact, the latest fan theory concerning Avengers 4 comes to us by way of Screen Rant, whose Infinity War reaction includes a piece dedicated to the super-secret title. To cut to the chase, the outlet name-drops ‘Avengers: Endgame’ as a possible contender, as Doctor Strange utters the somewhat ominous line, “we’re in the endgame now,” just prior to Infinity War‘s finale, one that’s spread across both Wakanda and Titan. And that’s it, really.
Our take? ‘Endgame’ is a little too on the nose, even if it’s a fitting description of the events leading up to Avengers 4. We’re more inclined to believe that Marvel Studios will choose/has chosen something a little more catchy like ‘Avengers: Disassembled’ – even though it should really be ‘Disintegrated’ – ahead of the sequel’s launch in 2019.
Because now that Thanos has snapped his fingers, and reduced half of the universe to dust, only the MCU’s Phase One heroes – namely Thor, Cap, Black Widow, Hulk, Hawkeye and a wounded Iron Man – remain. Couple this with the oncoming arrival of Captain Marvel (and Ant-Man!) and it looks certain that the original Avengers will be the ones forced to save the day during Avengers 4.
How, exactly? That’s another question entirely…
