The Avengers Defend New York In New TV Spot

The latest TV spot for Avengers: Infinity War sees Earth's Mightiest Heroes coming together to defend New York from Thanos and his Black Order.

Can there be too much of a good thing? Most might say yes, but when it comes to Avengers: Infinity War, we’d have to say no. The marketing machine has been running at full speed lately and while you could say that Marvel’s been showing us too much, we’d argue the opposite. The studio’s actually been quite careful and calculated in what they’ve given us to feast on, ensuring that each new promo contains enough fresh footage to get us excited but nothing that might be seen as a spoiler.

That continues with tonight’s new TV spot. In this one, we see most of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in action as they come together to defend New York City. And while it is mostly made up of stuff we’ve already laid eyes on, there is some new material sprinkled throughout.

For one, we get a few more shots of Black Widow doing her thing, but what fans will probably be most excited by is an extended/alternate look at that Doctor Strange and Spider-Man exchange we saw in the second official trailer. Granted, the dialogue is mostly the same, but it does seem to be framed differently, and Tony can be seen in the background here – whereas he was nowhere to be found before.

It goes without saying that Spidey and Strange is one team-up that’s right up there on many folks’ list of most anticipated when it comes to which heroes they can’t wait to see work together. After all, co-director Joe Russo has promised that there will be “great chemistry” between the two when they meet in the movie, saying:

“There’s a really great chemistry there. I mean, they both have a proximity to each other, if that’s a hint that I can give? But anybody who’s a Marvel fan will know that they both reside within the same city, and I think that Tom and Benedict have a great chemistry, and we wanted to exploit that.”

Suffice it to say, fans are beside themselves with excitement when it comes to Avengers: Infinity War, and one need only look to the latest box office forecasts ($225 million in its opening weekend) for evidence of that. April 27th is the date for your diaries.
