New Avengers: Endgame TV Spot Teases The End Of Cap’s Journey

“Every Journey Has An End,” says the new TV spot for Avengers: Endgame, while showing moments from throughout the eight-year run of Captain America. At this point, it’s almost as if Marvel Studios has given up trying to hide that next week’s release will be Steve Rogers’ final outing.

Granted, no one at Marvel has yet come out and said that Chris Evans will be hanging up the shield after the Avengers: Infinity War sequel, though the actor has certainly come close at times. At a press conference earlier this month, for instance, Evans remarked that Endgame will see a “completion of the arc,” before co-director Joe Russo stopped him from saying more.

Another example you may recall was back in October of last year, when Evans shared a heartfelt message via Twitter on his last day of filming, in which he thanked his fans and colleagues for all the memories. At the time, many took his tweet as confirmation that he was out of the game, though he later claimed that he would’ve shared the same message, whether he was exiting or not.

On top of that, it’s expected that Evans will complete his contract with Endgame, which was originally meant for six films, before he chose to extend it in order to help bring the MCU’s current era to a close. For what it’s worth, Joe Russo did muddy the waters a little last year when he said in an interview with ET Canada that Evans is “not done yet.” Since then, however, reports have suggested that Russo may have actually been referring to the possibility of the actor continuing to work for Marvel as a director.

In short, when the TV spot tells us that every journey has its end, we can probably take it at its word. Nonetheless, we’ll likely know for sure if Steve’s leaving the series once Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
