The deluge of Avengers: Infinity War content – both official and unofficial – continues unabated.
This week alone, Marvel fans have been treated to high-res posters, Christmas gags and another round of story rumors featuring a potential weapon of mass destruction. Remember, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are about to confront the biggest threat they’ve ever known – bigger than even sentient supercomputers and invading aliens – as Infinity War will signal the advent of Thanos and his Black Order.
Comprised of Corvus Glaive, Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight, and Cull Obsidian, the Mad Titan’s lieutenants are just as formidable – if not more so – than Thanos himself, which can only spell bad news for the Avengers. But as a wise man once said, bringing together a group of remarkable people has worked wonders before, and thanks to Reddit, we now have a new (and seemingly unofficial) piece of concept art for Avengers: Infinity War. Feast thy eyes:
By incorporating Black Panther and the remodeled Spider-Man – not to mention Star-Lord and Gamora – this piece (t-shirt?) is a truly crowded affair. However, it appears as though the Hulk image has simply been plucked from the marketing campaign for Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Moreover, Mark Ruffalo’s Jade Giant has been through the wringer ever since, having endured a fist fight with the God of Thunder while on Sakaar. That tells us that Hulk’s final promo image for Infinity War will be slightly different to the one seen above, and that this artwork is by no means the finished piece – if anything, it’s another timely reminder of Joe and Anthony Russo’s stellar superhero lineup.
And it’ll all fall into place once Avengers: Infinity War lights up theaters on May 4th, 2018. The fight against Thanos will spill into 2019, too, given Avengers 4 is also on the cards.
