Here’s How It Star Bill Skarsgård Could Look As The Batman’s Joker

If various reports from the past few months are anything to go by, then Matt Reeves’ The Batman will feature at least six famous DC villains, including The Riddler, The Penguin and Catwoman. From the sound of things, Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne is going to have his hands rather full in his big screen debut, but should Warner Bros. want to squeeze in one more nemesis for the Caped Crusader to fight, some new fan art from William Gray offers a suggestion.

Bill Skarsgård of It fame is already known for playing one psychotic clown, and in the image below, we can see how he might look as the next Joker. Given the obvious influence of Heath Ledger’s Dark Knight performance on Skarsgård’s Pennywise, this casting might, if anything, be a little too on the nose, but it must be said that the villain is looking pretty dapper alongside Pattinson’s Batman.

Of course, we currently have little reason to believe that Reeves’ upcoming film is in need of a new Joker. After all, it’s not like live-action interpretations of the Clown Prince of Crime are in short supply these days. Joaquin Phoenix, for instance, is set to make his debut in the role later this year with Todd Phillips’ Joker. Meanwhile, Jared Leto has gone on record saying that he’d be down for reprising his part from 2016’s Suicide Squad, though whether or not Warner will actually have him back is another matter.

In any case, we can see Bruce Wayne’s new set of foes in action when The Batman hits theaters on June 25th, 2021. In the meantime, Skarsgård’s Pennywise returns in It: Chapter Two, which is scheduled for release on September 6th, 2019.
