Ben Affleck Breaks His Silence On The Batman

If you're a Batfan, then today was probably a pretty good day. It all began when Matt Reeves announced that he'd be directing The Batman after all, despite walking away from it last week. Warner Bros. then followed that up with both the reveal of a Nightwing movie and confirmation that Ben Affleck remained on board to star as the Caped Crusader for the character's next outing.

If you’re a Batfan, then today was probably a pretty good day. It all began when Matt Reeves announced that he’d be directing The Batman after all, despite walking away from it last week. Warner Bros. then followed that up with both the reveal of a Nightwing movie, and confirmation that Ben Affleck remained on board to star as the Caped Crusader for the character’s next outing.

Now, to make things even more clear, the actor has broken the silence himself via social media, welcoming Reeves to the project by Tweeting out the message below.

If that doesn’t put to bed any rumors of Affleck departing The Batman, then we don’t know what will. Granted, this doesn’t mean that he won’t vacate the role after he’s done with Reeves’ film, but for the time being, he’s very much involved with the next chapter in the DC Extended Universe, and we couldn’t be happier about it.

Whether the actor ever did, or still does, have a desire to step away from playing the Dark Knight is still unknown, but having him 100% confirmed for The Batman is an encouraging sign indeed and signals that perhaps there’s not as much to worry about with the project as we originally thought. Reeves is a strong choice for director and with Affleck firmly on board, we’re quite excited to see what the two of them come up with.

Now that everything’s moving along smoothly, we fully expect to get more updates soon (including whether or not the film will still feature Deathstroke). Until more information arrives, however, let us know if you’re a fan of Reeves directing, and what you think he’s going to bring to the movie, by commenting down below.
