Variety is reporting that Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake will take the lead roles in an online poker thrilled titled Runner, Runner, which is set to be directed by Lincoln Lawyer director Brad Furman. 20th Century Fox will be distributing the film and New Regency, Leonardo DiCaprio‘s company Appian Way, Double Feature, and Stone Village Pictures will produce.

The script from Brian Koppelman and David Levien is set around “a $30 billion world of illegal online gambling.” For those not familiar with Koppelman and Levien, they were the same guys who brought us Rounders, one of the best poker films of all time.

A sequel to Rounders has been rumored for a while but as far as we know, Runner, Runner has nothing to do with the classic Matt Damon/Edward Norton poker flick. Runner, Runner will be its own separate film.

Production is expected to get underway later this year with a release date set for sometime in 2013.
