Captain Marvel went into production earlier this year before taking a hiatus and now, the upcoming first ever female-led installment of the MCU has resumed filming – bringing with it another look at star Brie Larson in costume as Carol Danvers. And, yes, she’s still wearing that green and black suit that caused so much controversy when it leaked out back in January.

Due to the character’s usual blue, red and yellow colour scheme, many took umbrage with the fact that Captain Marvel will apparently be decked out in a completely different look in her solo movie. It’s worth remembering, though, that it’s a long-held trope of superhero origin films that the protagonist has a prototype costume before settling into their iconic number later on. Given that, we imagine that Carol’s green outfit is perhaps a Kree suit that she wears immediately after getting her powers, which she’ll swap for her more familiar look afterwards.

Either way, you can check out the latest batch of photos below:

It’s interesting to note that Brie Larson’s hair style has changed since the last set pics, as she previously sported a classic “Jennifer Aniston from Friends” look. That served as a reminder that Captain Marvel will be set in the 1990s, though it seems Carol’s appearance has been rethought over the production hiatus. Either that, or this change is deliberately meant to mark a passage of time in the movie.

As well as jumping back in time, Captain Marvel will feature a younger Nick Fury, exploring how he first came into contact with the superhero world, while also introducing the shape-shifting Skrulls into the MCU. Kevin Feige has revealed that it’ll be primarily set in space, too, and will draw inspiration from 1990s action movies. Excited yet?

Captain Marvel flies into cinemas on March 8th, 2019 and contrary to earlier reports, Carol Danvers won’t be appearing in Avengers: Infinity War.
