Fans have been blowing up the internet lately with ways to show their excitement for Rian Johnson’s sci-fi thriller, Looper. A few days ago we got some awesome fan art for the film, but what we have today is by far the best piece of promotional material yet.

Deepak Chetty has provided fans with a brilliant video showing a retro 8-bit video game version of Looper, which was first found on The Verge.

The video is incredibly well made, capturing what we know about the film very well. It’s the kind of preview that everyone needs to watch, along with the official theatrical trailer. The music is perfect and it’s also pretty amusing, adding a splash of humor to a film which probably won’t be known for its comedic moments. I especially enjoyed the brief Die Hard reference.

The detail included shows this wasn’t just thrown together in an afternoon. People are getting really excited for Looper, and rightfully so. This has the potential to be one of the best sci-fi films in some time, and should be another great performance from Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

I’ve got my Game Boy pocket ready. Someone make this a real game, please.

Check out the video below and let us know what you think.
