It's the first day of a new month, and the various major streaming services are offering up a ton of amazing fresh content to mark the start of April. It’s the first day of a new month, and the various major streaming services are offering up a ton of amazing fresh content to mark the start of April. There are literally hundreds of movies and TV shows going up across Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max and Amazon Prime Video today. I’m serious, this isn’t an April Fools joke.

Netflix has the smallest haul of the day, with the lowest number of freshly licensed titles debuting, but what it lacks in quantity it makes up for in quality. Don’t miss the likes of disaster movie 2012, Bruce Willis action-comedy Cop Out and Jim Carrey flick Yes Man. Horror fans, meanwhile, can check out the first Leprechaun, James Wan’s Insidious and Sam Raimi production The Possession. Not to mention we’ve also got originals like season 2 of Gaten Matarazzo’s Prank Encounters.

A load of classic titles from Warner Bros.’ library are being added to HBO and HBO Max today as well. These include genuine masterpieces such as Clint Eastwood’s Dirty Harry and Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas, as well as so-bad-they’re-good cult classic superhero films like Ghost Rider and Green Lantern. You can also catch The Mask of Zorro, a heap of Police Academy pics and the original Space Jam before the belated sequel arrives this summer.

The Possession

Hulu, meanwhile, has a hugely varied haul of content going up this April 1st. If you’re looking for new reality, cooking and lifestyle series, then you’ll definitely be covered for a while. As for movies, just a few of the highlights are a trio of Die Hards (the first, third and fifth, to be precise), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Will Smith vehicle Hancock, the original Mad Max and Star Trek: Generations.

Last but not least, Amazon Prime has a similarly chunky batch debuting today. It shares a few of the same titles as Hulu’s, but there are many exclusives in there, too. Namely, Keira Knightley period drama Anna Karenina, Jason Segal comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall, the first of the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy and Christopher Nolan’s iconic Inception.
