Two new TV spots for the upcoming Steven Soderbergh film Contagion have been released. With a cast that includes Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Bryan Cranston and John Hawkes, it’s not likely that much can go wrong with this one. In fact, it’s almost guaranteed to be a hit.

Arriving in theatres on Sept 9th, the film follows “the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days. As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. At the same time, ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart.”

The film looks absolutely brilliant and genuinely frightening. Led by an all star cast, this film should have no trouble earning acclaim and early buzz is already very positive. The trailer we saw a few weeks ago was fantastic and these two TV spots are just as impressive, further stressing the severity of the virus. From the looks of it, Contagion could be the year’s scariest film.

This looks like a gripping and intense film with some very strong performances. Virus thrillers have always intrigued me, mainly because they feel very real. Stuff like this could easily happen and there’s nothing we can do about it. Virus outbreaks are scary and when portrayed in films, they often make for some legitimately terrifying material.

Check out the two TV spots below and let us know what you think.
