Watch Dafne Keen’s Incredible Improvised Audition For Logan

Comic book movie fans don't agree on a lot of things, but just about all of us are on the same page with Logan. Hugh Jackman's final movie as Wolverine was an emotional, exciting send-off for the much loved character and probably one of the best superhero films of all-time. A major part of its success has to be Dafne Keen's turn as Laura Kinney. If her key character had fallen flat, the whole movie would have failed. Thankfully, Keen was a revelation in the role and is sure to have a big career ahead of her.

As it turns out, the actress’ talent was clear right from her first audition opposite her on-screen father. In the newly released featurette embedded up above, we see how Keen blew away both her co-stars and the production team with her intense audition, some of which she improvised on the spot. The 12-year-old actress had enough skill to impress even an experienced thespian like Sir Patrick Stewart, not to mention the strength to give Hugh Jackman bruises on his arm.

Unsurprisingly, then, Keen has already lined up her next project; she’ll be playing the titular character in upcoming drama Ana. After that, we hope that Fox manages to get her back for more X-Men outings, as we’d love to see Laura grow up and take on her father’s mantle of Wolverine, as per the comics. Whether that’ll happen or not remains to be seen, but it’s clear the Keen has a very bright future ahead of her regardless.

As for Logan, well, it’s safe to say that the threequel was a smashing success in both a critical and financial sense. It was so popular, in fact, that it’s even getting a (very) limited return to theatres soon with Logan Noir, a special showing of the black and white version of the movie – which will also be included on the DVD and Blu-Ray release.
