Daniel Radcliffe Says He’d Make A Good Spider-Man
Though Daniel Radcliffe has been quick to shoot down the rumor that he might be in the running to replace Hugh Jackman as the next Wolverine, the Harry Potter actor apparently thinks he’d be a much better fit for another major superhero.
Radcliffe recently featured in a video from GQ that saw the star of the upcoming TV show Miracle Workers respond directly to online fan questions. Among the queries was a post on Quora asking if the actor would’ve made for a good Spider-Man, prompting Radcliffe to respond:
“Yes. I would have made a very good Spider-Man. Not in the films. I just mean in real life, were I granted those powers.”
With Tom Holland looking pretty comfortable in the role these days, it’s unlikely that Radcliffe will be granted any wall-crawling abilities in real life or in films, but who knows, maybe he can still land a voice role in the Spider-Verse movies.
But if Spider-Man is a long shot, Radcliffe seems to have ruled out Wolverine completely, claiming that there’s “no truth” to the recent murmurs that he might be gunning for the role. Indeed, the main basis for this speculation was nothing more than a joke made by the actor a few days ago that he’s playing a shrunk version of Hugh Jackman’s character that emerges after Logan goes through a hot wash.
In any case, the question remains of who’ll be filling Jackman’s shoes, though it’s unlikely that we’ll hear a casting announcement at least until after the Disney/Fox deal comes into effect in a few months’ time. As for Spider-Man, you can catch Holland in the role once more when Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 5th, 2019, if not sooner when Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26th.
