When Jason Statham‘s name came up as a contender for a role in Fast and Furious 6, the fit seemed kind of natural. But then came Luke Evans. Seeing as Evans is crafting himself a name as a serious dramatic actor, he just wasn’t the type of actor that I thought the studio would be after.
Now though, we have an ever more obscure actor in the mix to join the film. Latino Review have learnt that former Doctor Who star David Tennant is currently in talks with director Justin Lin to take on a role in the sixth installment of the franchise.
The talks were apparently over Skype so I’m a little unsure of how much of this I actually believe, but if they are true and Tennant joins the franchise, he could be a great and unique asset.
No word yet on what role he may be playing but I think he’d be a great villain, especially after his part in the Harry Potter series. With production starting next month, we can expect an official announcement soon.
Fast And Furious 6 will be released May 24th, 2013.
