A source close to We Got This Covered tells us that the studio is looking to develop a movie starring the Justice Society of America. DC fans will recognize the JSA as the original superhero union from the Golden Age of Comics in the 1940s who’ve survived into the modern day as well with various roster reshuffles. There’s a lengthy list of members from across the decades, but some of the more notable include Hawkman and Hawkgirl, Sandman, Spectre and Doctor Fate, who could also be getting his own vehicle.

According to our info, the seeds of the JSA will be sown in the upcoming Black Adam solo flick starring Dwayne Johnson as the immortal anti-hero. We’ve been told that Stargirl and Atom Smasher will be appearing in the movie as well, something that That Hashtag Show has also reported on.

Though they haven’t made their way to the silver screen yet, DC TV fans should still be familiar with the JSA from their appearances on both Smallville and Legends of TomorrowDC Universe is also working on Stargirl TV series which will feature other members of the team.

We haven’t heard any official word that the long-gestating Black Adam film’s back in the works, but it sounds like it’s going somewhere if WB’s planning to use it to lay the groundwork for a new corner of the Worlds of DC franchise. Perhaps the studio is waiting on Shazam! to come out before they start work on the movie starring his nemesis?

Time will tell, but for now, let us know if you’d like to see a Justice Society of America film materialize by dropping a comment down below.
