The two-minute video showcases a fun scene which reveals that Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth is going to train with the X-Men in the movie. To prove it, he’s even wearing an X-Men jersey with “TRAINEE” marked on the back over his signature superhero outfit. It seems his first mission as part of the team sees him attempting to subdue Russell Collins, who calls himself “Firefist,” alongside returning characters Colossus (Stefan Kapicic) and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand).

Given that Wade Wilson isn’t known for his diplomacy, though, it’s not long before he starts making things worse. In particular, he takes a page out of Rocket Raccoon’s Book of How To Enrage People by making fun of his chosen name (to be fair, Firefist is up there with Taserface on the stupid scale). In classic Deadpool style, the scene’s also stuffed with pop culture references, including alluding to Beyonce’s relationship troubles and quoting from Robocop.

As can be seen from the clip, Russell (as played by Julian Dennison) is a dangerous kid. He’ll fall under the protection of Deadpool in the movie as Josh Brolin’s Cable will return from the future in order to hunt him down. There’s also a little Marvel easter egg hidden in here, as the cop Deadpool speaks with says Russell belongs in the Ice Box – a super-human prison facility located in Canada in the comics.

To find out how the X-Men manage to subdue Firef… Firef… no, I’m sorry, I just can’t type it.. be sure to catch Deadpool 2 in cinemas this Friday, May 18th.
