The Immortal Warrior is decked out in full combat gear in today’s new pair of images for Wonder Woman.
We are, of course, referring to Diana Prince of Themyscira, the all-powerful princess that first leaped into the DC Extended Universe with a brief, yet memorable turn in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Indeed, Gal Gadot’s heroine was arguably one of, if not the greatest highlights of Zack Snyder’s widely derided ensemble piece, and it won’t be long now before Wonder Woman headlines her own origin story. Yes, June 2nd is fast approaching, and now that its suitably epic final trailer is out in the open, all eyes are beginning to turn toward the Patty Jenkins-directed solo movie in the hope that it can herald a triumphant success for Warner Bros. and the DC Extended Universe as a whole.
Whether that turns out to be the case will be told in time, but in order to keep our excitement ticking over, another pair of pictures have surfaced via Tumblr. First spotted by Batman-News, up above you’ll see Gal Gadot sharing the screen with Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), while there’s also a dimly lit shot of Wonder Woman negotiating with Sameer (Saïd Taghmaoui) and Charlie (Ewen Bremner), an elusive master of disguise and a sharpshooter that throw their support behind DC’s Immortal Warrior – after a fair amount of convincing, of course.
Wonder Woman opens on June 2nd and will herald a cinematic origin story 75 years in the making. It’s also the first of Gal Gadot’s two DC appearances in 2017, what with Zack Snyder’s all-star Justice League movie on course for November 17th.
