Dislikes on ‘The Marvels’ trailer tracking over 3000 percent ahead of ‘Morbius,’ which pretty much says it all

Brie Larson is handily outstripping Jared Leto's "New Marvel Legend."

Even though it doesn’t release for another seven months, we’re happy to go out on a limb and say that The Marvels will prove to be a vastly superior Marvel Comics adaptation than Morbius.

Not only that, but we’d bet the farm on it earning significantly more money, too. Jared Leto’s infamous turn as the Living Vampire hoodwinked Sony executives so spectacularly that they were genuinely convinced to re-release it into theaters based entirely on memes, only for the turgid superhero origin story to bomb for a second time.

It’s also one of the worst-reviewed Marvel blockbusters there’s ever been, with Leto landing a well-deserved Razzie win for Worst Actor into the bargain. And yet, the trailer for Morbius has only been disliked on YouTube 11,000 times since the first promo dropped over a year ago.

On the other hand, The Marvels took less than 24 hours to become the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most-disliked teaser of all-time, a suspicious achievement considering there are 32 of them to choose from. Now that we’re a few days in and the maiden footage for Nia DaCosta’s cosmic caper is rapidly closing in on 350,000 downvotes, we’re left to question why it’s tracking 3000 percent ahead of Morbius in terms of hatred.

The reasons are obvious, to be fair, and it’s not like it was an unexpected development. Then again, making it look as though The Marvels is drumming up 3000 times the bad buzz of Morbius is ludicrous, even though there was no other reasonable outcome given how much trolls love to tear its mere existence down at every turn.
