Don Cheadle Is Iron Patriot In New Iron Man 3 Poster

Continuing with the promotional campaign for Iron Man 3, today sees the release of a new poster. Instead of featuring the titular hero though, this one features Don Cheadle as Iron Patriot with what looks to be a plane exploding behind him. We’re not sure whether this is the first in a set of character posters or if the film will just be giving Cheadle’s character a bigger role, but either way, we’re a fan of this recent piece of promotional material.

Much of the marketing that we’ve seen so far has been focused on Iron Man, for obvious reasons. And while that isn’t a bad thing, it’s definitely nice to see one of the other characters given the chance to step into the spotlight. Speaking of marketing, I think the team is doing a good job on this one, everything we’ve seen so far looks great and I absolutely loved the Super Bowl trailer that was shown a few weeks ago.

From the looks of it, Iron Man 3 should be a significant step up from the previous film and all things considered, it should be able to earn itself a top spot amongst films in the Marvel universe.

Iron Man 3 touches down in theatres on May 3rd, 2013 and stars Robert Downey, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, James Badge Dale and Ben Kingsley. The film will be directed by Shane Black.
