Dredd 3D Receives A New TV Spot

Dredd 3D is an interesting film. For one, it's a remake that a lot of people were opposed to when it was first announced. The original film wasn't anything to write home about and for many people, it didn't need to be remade. When the film did enter into production, news was quiet and hard to come by. For a long time we knew next to nothing about it.

Dredd 3D is an interesting film. For one, it’s a reboot that a lot of people were opposed to when it was first announced. The original film wasn’t anything to write home about and for many people, it didn’t need to be rebooted. When the film did enter into production, news was quiet and hard to come by. For a long time we knew next to nothing about it.

Then, the marketing campaign kicked into gear. Trailers were released, photos were shared and the production opened right up. At first, responses were mostly negative, with many people calling the film a clone of The Raid: Redemption. But then something happened. The film was screened at Comic-Con and the reception was extremely positive. Things took a complete 180 and now, anticipation for the film is at an all time high.

Starring Karl Urban as the titular hero, Dredd 3D looks to provide fans with a gritty and gory hard-R action flick that will satisfy on multiple levels. I’ll admit it, it does look awfully similar to the aforementioned The Raid: Redemption but considering that was one of my favorite films of the year, you won’t hear any complaints from this writer.

The new TV spot below features mostly recycled footage but it’s still worth a look, especially if you’re excited for the film.

Do yourself a favor and watch the new Dredd 3D TV spot below and then head down to the comments and let us know what you think.

Dredd 3D will hit theatres on September 21st, 2012.
