The dysfunctional family was once viewed as the quirky outliers of the Marvel universe, and their inclusion in the MCU raised concerns that James Gunn’s spacefaring adventure would be remembered as the studio’s first major box office flop. Oh, how times change.

Three weeks out from the launch of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Star-Lord and Co. are, without question, among the most popular characters lining the Marvel Cinematic Universe – the excitement generated by Baby Groot alone has at times been infectious – and all signs point to James Gunn’s sequel going down as a landmark success when its hits U.S. theaters on May 5th. And so, in an effort to keep that excitement at a fever-pitch, another round of GotG Vol. 2 TV spots have stormed online, and you can check them out above.

Currently tracking for a staggering $150m-$180 million opening weekend at the box office, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is due to arrive for those in the States on May 5th. James Gunn’s galactic sequel opens a little earlier overseas (April 28th for those in the UK; April 10th for Japan), and though the writer-director remains coy about returning at the helm for Vol. 3, there’s been chatter of a Guardians Christmas spinoff taking flight at Marvel.

On the gaming end of things, meanwhile, Star-Lord, Gamora and the rest of the gang are gearing up for an all-new adventure in Telltale’s episodic series, which kicks off tomorrow with the release of “Tangled Up in Blue.”
