Original Story:

Rising star Emma Stone has already battled zombies once before in Zombieland but it looks like that wasn’t enough for her. Now, before we go any further, let’s just make one thing clear. Despite this article’s title, we are not reporting on a Zombieland sequel. Make no mistake, Emma Stone will be returning to a land of zombies, just not the one you’re thinking of. Instead, we’re here to tell you that Variety is bringing us news that the new Hollywood IT girl has been cast in Pride And Prejudice And Zombies.

Director Craig Gillespie will be helming this adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s novel and names such as Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson were linked to the long gestating film for a while. But, with Stone now confirmed, it looks like things are going to be put into motion with this one.

Seth Grahame-Smith is quickly making a name for himself in Hollywood. He scripted the upcoming Dark Shadows reboot as well as an adaptation of his other novel, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. He seems to be a hot commodity and personally, I’m expecting big things from both novels of his that are being turned into films.

In regards to Pride And Prejudice And Zombies, film fans have been waiting for casting new for some time now and I’m glad to see that we finally have the first official cast member. Stone’s celebrity status will undoubtedly draw some other big names on board and I’m looking forward to seeing who joins next.

What do you think of Stone’s involvement with the film?
