Evangeline Lilly In Talks For Ant-Man Female Lead

Looks like Evangeline Lilly impressed someone at Marvel with her role in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug as THR is reporting that the actress is in early talks for the female lead in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man. No word yet on which role that would be but apparently, if she signs on she'll be appearing in multiple Marvel films, not just this one. Insiders say she'll be playing Hank Pym's daughter, who ends up being a love interest for Scott Lang, but that's not confirmed.

Looks like Evangeline Lilly impressed someone at Marvel with her role in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, as THR is reporting that the actress is in early talks for the female lead in Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man. No word yet on which role that would be but apparently, if she signs on she’ll be appearing in multiple Marvel films, not just this one. Insiders say she’ll be playing Hank Pym’s daughter, who ends up being a love interest for Scott Lang, but that’s not confirmed.

Despite the fact the she hasn’t really done anything since Lost, I’ve always been a fan of Lilly and was a bit surprised/upset when she kind of faded out after her hit show ended its run. Perhaps she just needed a break, or maybe she decided to rest on her laurels for a bit? Regardless, it looks like Lilly is back and is about to become a relevant name again.

You can bet that if she joins Marvel’s universe she’ll have even more doors opened for her, which could lead to the actress finding just as much success on the big screen as she did on television.

Ant-Man crawls into theatres on July 17th, 2015 and stars Michael Douglas, Paul Rudd and Michael Pena. Tell us, do you want to see Evangeline Lilly in the female lead role? Or do you have someone else in mind?
