Well, we still may be a quarter of a year or so removed from the first Avengers 4 trailer, but that’ll give us plenty of time to prepare for the ginormous blockbuster in a healthy manner mentally, and it seems they’ve gone and beheaded Thanos (Josh Brolin).

Look, I know the cataclysmic finale of Avengers: Infinity War was taxing on everyone, and a lot of you are probably still in mourning, but still, that doesn’t excuse such vulgar imagery.

Courtesy of Reddit, we’ve received a gory Avengers 4 fan poster – created by Ultraraw26 – on which Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) has clearly “gone for the head” and decapitated the Mad Titan. What’s more, Stark’s now brandishing the bodiless head for all to see, presumedly to ensure we remember him.

Admittedly, if anyone’s going to put Thanos through the guillotine in Avengers 4, it’ll probably be Iron Man. I mean, the look on his face as Peter Parker (Tom Holland) disintegrated said it all, really. Nothing against Thor (Chris Hemsworth) – who really should’ve gone for the head – or Cap (Chris Evans), but they just didn’t have that murderous look in their eye, not like Stark anyway.

Regardless, it’s nearly a quarter of a year later and we’re still stuck with a loose end, or two, protruding all frayed and vexatious from Avengers: Infinity War and, to be completely honest, Ant-Man and the Wasp didn’t provide much help. Thankfully, though, with the first Avengers 4 trailer on the way, and what with Captain Marvel set for release early next year, I fully expect an answer to the most pressing matter at hand. Namely, where in the hell is Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), and how can she stop Thanos?
