It’s been a long, hard road for the crew of the Fast and the Furious since they became fugitives of the law and forced to flea the United States. With the sixth installment of the franchise coming to theaters in late spring, Universal has finally released details on where their journey will head after making all that noise in Brazil.

At the end of Justin Lin’s Fast Five, fans got a taste of what they might expect with Eve Mendes (2 Fast, 2 Furious) revealing that Letty (Michelle  Rodriguez) may not be as dead as everyone thought. This not only set up the plot for Fast and Furious 6, but added speculation as to how many characters who we already know of would be on board for the next round.

Check out the plot summary below:

Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.

Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.

There’s more on the line in this film than any other with the offer of amnesty on the table. The betrayal of Letty’s death, however that was accomplished, is sure to be a major plot point – perhaps even the cliffhanger that takes us to lucky number 7. Now that Dom (Vin Diesel) has found a new love and Brian and Mia (Jordana Brewster) are parents, the idea of not living on the run is probably more than just appealing to everyone involved. It will be interesting to see what part the baby will play in this film, it’s not like they can just hire a babysitter to watch their kid for a few days while they’re in London hijacking control of a criminal organization, right?

Along for the ride this time are Gina Carano, Elsa Pataky, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Tyrese Gibson, and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges.

Fast and Furious 6 heads to theaters on May 24th, 2013.
