Gary Oldman And Amber Heard Leave Albert Hughes’ Motor City

Variety is reporting that Gary Oldman and Amber Heard have left Albert Hughes' Motor City. Gerald Butler is set to star in the film, which is based off the 2009 Black List script by Chad St. John. The film follows "a small time crook who is framed and sent to jail, then goes after those who put him there." Most notable, however, is that Butler's character is said to only have one line of dialogue.

For those unfamiliar with the project, it hasn’t exactly had the easiest time finding a cast. Names like Chris Evans, Dominic Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal and Jeremy Renner have all come and gone. With the female lead (Heard) and the villain (Oldman) cast, it looked like things would finally get going. But now that Heard and Oldman have dropped, the project has hit another wall.

Scheduling conflicts was the reason for both actors dropping as Heard is set to shoot Robert Rodriguez‘s Machete Kills and Oldman is gearing up for Robert Luketic‘s Paranoia.

No word yet on who the studio wants to replace Heard and Oldman with but as soon as we hear something we’ll let you know.
