Green Lantern WonderCon Footage

Warner Bros. was initially having some trouble with their upcoming film Green Lantern. The trailer that was released a few months back was met with horrible reception and the studio was worried. It was looking like the movie may be a total flop. But then things changed. Ten minutes of new footage was shown at CinemaCon/WonderCon and apparently it went over really well. Warner Bros. was so happy with the reception that they decided to take four minutes from the footage and put it on the internet for all to see. And to be honest, it looks a lot better than what we saw a few months ago.

It gives us a deeper look at the creature design, and the planet Oa, both of which look fantastic. The effects and design of the whole world looks really impressive. The first trailer had a very silly/corny feel to it and didn’t shine a positive light on the film. That being said, my mind is starting to change. I really enjoyed the footage released today and if you’re still on the fence about this one, check out the clip below.

The film stars Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively who lead a cast that includes Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Tim Robbins, Angela Bassett, Temuera Morrison, Jon Tenney and the voice of Geoffrey Rush. The film is set for release on June 17 in 3D and Martin Campbell will direct.
