Guardians Of The Galaxy Gets Rave Reviews And A New 5-Minute Clip

It has been a very good year to be a fan of action-packed blockbusters. April and May brought audiences the one-two punch of strong Marvel movies Captain America: The Winter Soldier and X-Men: Days of Future Past, while Edge of Tomorrow and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes have thrilled moviegoers through June and July. Now, the big August tentpole - Marvel's much-anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy - should keep with the high quality of this blockbuster season. If early reviews are to be believed, James Gunn's space-set action-comedy is the best Marvel film yet.

April and May brought audiences the one-two punch of strong Marvel movies Captain America: The Winter Soldier and X-Men: Days of Future Past, while Edge of Tomorrow and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes have thrilled moviegoers through June and July. In fact, if early reviews are to be believed, James Gunn’s space-set action-comedy is the best Marvel film yet.

If this strongly positive response does not get you excited for August 1, perhaps a new, nearly five-minute clip of the film will. While much of it – notably, the Usual Suspects-like round-up and the use of Blue Swede’s hyper-catchy “Hooked on a Feeling” – has already been shown in the trailer, this is a more extended look.

We hear some of the early banter between Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) and the vocabulary-deficient tree Groot (Vin Diesel), as they walk through The Kyln, a high security prison. The last minute is a dazzling, trailer-like wrap-up that ought to get that Blue Swede tune stuck in your head from now until the film’s release next Friday.

Check it out below and let us know if you’re looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy.
