But while the Lords of Salem helmsman has yet to make the announcement, Dark Universe: Horror Database has now reported that Zombie’s sequel to 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects is aiming to hit theaters on October 31st, 2019. That’s right, the director of two Halloween movies may finally be releasing one of his horror films on the actual day.

So far, we’ve yet to receive any official confirmation that this is the case, so perhaps it’s best not to mark your diaries just yet. Still, given how active Zombie has been on Instagram these days, surely he can only go so long before he confirms or denies the claim.

Incidentally, the director announced just yesterday on social media that the movie has now entered the sound mixing stage. The process is apparently being handled by triple Oscar-winner Michael Minkler, whose sounds credits range from Star Wars to Inglourious Basterds to A Star Is Born, so in the words of Zombie himself, Three From Hell “will definitely sound killer.”

All in all, it looks like things are coming along pretty smoothly for the long-awaited return of Otis B. Driftwood, Vera-Ellen “Baby” Firefly and Captain Spaulding, though if the new report has it right, then we still have most of the year to wait before Three From Hell comes out on October 31st. In the meantime, here’s hoping that the film’s first trailer isn’t too far away from dropping.
