Horror fans, rejoice! ‘Terrifier 3′ is officially on its way

Things are about to get bloody.

Fresh on the heels of blood-splattered extravaganza Terrifier 2 causing audiences to faint and vomit last October, the entire horror community is doing cartwheels after learning that Terrifier 3 is officially on its way. And, much like its two predecessors, the bone-chilling slasher spectacle looks to be bigger, badder — and gorier than ever before. As if we needed another reason to be completely excited about next year’s spooky season.

As reported by Deadline, the news was confirmed earlier today as distribution house The Coven is teaming up with writer/director Damien Leone to bring the much-anticipated threequel to fruition. Unfortunately, major details about the horror film — which includes cast announcements — are being kept under wraps, but that’s only increasing our excitement for the blood-stained project.

As per the article above, filming for the project is expected to begin at some point later this year, with filmmakers looking for the movie to release in “late 2024.” Of course, it wouldn’t exactly be spooky season without the inclusion of Art the Clown terrorizing helpless victims. With that said, one can only assume that franchise icon David Howard Thornton will be reprising his role as the memorable villain. And for those die-hards out there, we’ll be holding out hope for a Catherine Corcoran flashback appearance.

Given that the captivating sequel absolutely slayed at the global box office, it hardly comes as a surprise that a threequel is on its way — especially with a larger budget rumored to be attached. And if prior scenes in the franchise kept us on our toes, then this go-around looks to leave us speechless.
