Latino Review’s Suicide Squad rumors just keep coming. Following the three potential bombshells that scoop guru El Mayimbe dropped last week regarding the roles of Deathstroke, Joker and Batman in David Ayer’s hotly-anticipated adaptation, he’s now reporting that Watchmen alum Jackie Earl Haley might be joining the Squad as well.

At this time, Mayimbe admits that this is nothing more than a rumor, but he has supposedly heard that Haley’s name is being tossed around for the role of a Flash villain known as The Thinker. In the comics, the Thinker is a genius inventor by the name of Clifford DeVoe, who harnesses the powers of telekinesis and mind control thanks to a metal “Thinking Cap.” He was a member of both the Justice Society and the Suicide Squad, and has been through several iterations throughout the years.

This is casting that I can 100% get behind. It’s exactly the type of creepy role that Haley seems to gravitate towards and it would be great to see him reunite with Watchmen director Zack Snyder, who’s producing Suicide Squad and overseeing the entire burgeoning DC Cinematic Universe. As for how a character like the Thinker could factor into the film, he could be one of several criminals-turned-mercenaries at Amanda Waller’s disposal, or perhaps pose some sort of threat to the team itself. Considering this is the first we’re hearing of the Thinker’s involvement, chances are that it’s not a very substantial role.

Directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad is set to hit theaters on August 5th, 2016. It stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jared Leto as the Joker, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.
