Jane Foster’s Thor Will Reportedly Join The New Avengers Lineup

Even though the Marvel Cinematic Universe certainly has much else on tap over the next few years, we'd be stupid not to think another Avengers movie won't take shape somewhere down the line. After all, it's pretty much a certainty that major dough will be raked in whenever the studio's most notable heroes come together on the big screen.

As you may have heard, Kevin Feige himself said that a radically different lineup will unite when the time comes and, more recently, our source told us which characters are being discussed for inclusion. To briefly recap, the New Avengers will be Captains Marvel and America, the Mighty Thor, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Shang-Chi, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, the Wasp and Blade.

By “the Mighty Thor,” we do, in fact, mean Jane Foster’s Thor. Set to soon headline her own picture in the form of Love and Thunder, one could say her wielding Mjolnir has been a long time coming. Actually, this is in keeping with Marvel Comics canon, as Jane made the leap from supporting character to marquee heroine on the printed page several years back.

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that Jane did indeed join the team in the source material, specifically in the All-New, All-Different Avengers series. Not only that, but a good portion of the other characters listed above took part in that book as well.

But if we’re to get technical, Blade wasn’t there for that era, though he did eventually sign up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in comics published earlier this year. That said, True Believers really don’t have much to complain about, and I, for one, am very much excited to see how each of these characters will play off each other.

Tell us, though, are you geeked to see Jane Foster’s Thor as part of the New Avengers lineup? Or, is there anyone you’d swap out for someone else? Let us know in the usual place below!
