Jeff Bridges Joining R.I.P.D.

Deadline is telling us that acting legend Jeff Bridges is going to be joining R.I.P.D. He’ll star alongside Ryan Reynolds in the supernatural comedy. Robert Schwentke will direct and Bridges will be replacing Zach Galifianakis. Galifianakis had to drop out because Reynolds’ schedule was too iffy since Warner Bros. has Reynolds locked into a Green Lantern sequel.

Based on the Peter Lenkov comic, the film will tell the story of a group of police officers that are made up of the undead. Sounds kind of silly to me and not something that is instantly appealing, despite the two strong leads.

Who knows though? It may turn out fine. I usually don’t care for these silly supernatural comedies and I’d much rather see both Reynolds and Bridges in something more serious and perhaps even Oscar worthy. Still, I’m sure The Dude will be pretty badass in the film, even if it is a dud. What do you think?
