I mean, it’s almost like a myth, one which fans continue to cling onto, hoping with each new day that they may finally, at long last, get a look at 2019’s biggest film. But here we are, on December 1st and still no sign of the footage, nor a date for when it may be with us.

Granted, this coming Monday has been heavily rumored as for when Marvel will drop it, but with no word from the studio yet, it’d be best to not get too excited. After all, there’ve been too many disappointments already over the course of this long wait and understandably, fans are feeling frustrated. Leave it to Jeremy Renner then to offer them a ray of hope.

The actor took to Instagram today with the below post, which has folks speculating that he may be teasing the arrival of the Avengers 4 trailer. Though he doesn’t mention it explicitly, he does use the hashtags ‘promo’ and ‘Infinity War,’ which don’t exactly make sense since he’d have no reason to be promoting Avengers: Infinity War at this stage.

As such, fans believe he’s teasing some kind of promo for the 2019 sequel instead. Then again, given that he’s at Tokyo Comic-Con at the moment, some are arguing that he’s just referencing whatever he’s doing there and isn’t hinting at any kind of trailer. Be it on Instagram or over on Reddit, people seem to be divided, but you can take a look for yourself at his post below and decide.

If you ask us, we don’t think this is in reference to the Avengers 4 trailer, though it is strange how he uses the hashtag Infinity War as like we said above, it wouldn’t make sense for him to be promoting the film right now. Regardless, it’s best not to read too much into this, as one way or another, we’ll find out soon enough when that much anticipated first preview will land.

That’s because the official Avengers 4 prelude comic hits store shelves on December 5th. For the record, that’s this coming Wednesday, so it’s highly likely that we may have the trailer as soon as Monday or Tuesday given that we can’t imagine Marvel would release it after the comic.

Then again, at this point, nothing is guaranteed and to be honest, it wouldn’t surprise us if Avengers 4 hit theaters in May without even having had a trailer. It’d be a bold and unprecedented marketing move by the studio, but not one that we’d put past them.
