We’ve already seen photos of Joaquin Phoenix in full Clown Prince of Crime makeup while sitting in the back of a police car, but in this latest batch of images, the famed Batman villain is lying on the hood and possibly unconscious after a collision. What’s more, in the state that the vehicle’s in, you have to wonder if Arthur’s going to be able to walk this one off.

In the background, you can also spot a few extras in clown masks – a sight that’s become quite familiar to anyone who’s been keeping track of the Todd Phillips-helmed film. From the many photos we’ve observed, Phoenix’s character seems set to be celebrated as a rebel and a mischief maker by the underprivileged citizens of Gotham City, with leaked images showing admiring crowds holding up signs with politically charged slogans like “Clown4Mayor” and “Kill the Rich.” With that in mind, any trouble with the police could even prove beneficial to Arthur’s reputation.

Of course, this being a Joker movie, it’s unlikely that the guy’s going to be using his influence over the people for good, with previous set pics showing Phoenix causing commotion in the New York subway while seemingly turning a mob against the wealthy Thomas Wayne. What’s more, it’s apparent that Arthur is loving the attention, with one video showing the failed comedian gleefully bowing to his audience.

We’ll see how it all ends for this anarchic figure when Joker comes out on October 4th, 2019.
