Nonetheless, it looks like we may have seen our last batch of potentially spoiler-heavy press snaps, as Phillips has now taken to Instagram to announce that production has officially wrapped. As well as posting one more pic, the director shared a message thanking his crew and hinting of the work still to come:

“That’s a wrap on production. Thanks to the greatest crew NYC has to offer. It was a fun shoot— but we’re not there yet. #editingroom”

Though the movie is still almost ten months away from reaching cinemas, Joker has already been the subject of much speculation that’s been fueled by the film’s generous supply of unofficial set material.

One batch of pics for example, featured Joaquin Phoenix in full Joker make-up smiling deliriously in the back of a police vehicle, while another set showed the antihero in the aftermath of a collision with a cop car, with both Arthur Fleck and the vehicle looking pretty banged up from the incident.

Elsewhere, things look to be going a lot better for the Clown Prince, with various set photos suggesting that Arthur may be regarded by parts of the public as a lovable rebel and mischief-maker who causes chaos at the expense of wealthy figures like Thomas Wayne.

We’ll find out how it all goes wrong for star of this so-called cautionary tale when Joker hits theaters on October 4th, 2019.
