Not for the first time, The Flash, Diana Prince, and the Caped Crusader are on the case in this all-new action shot for Justice League, which appears to place three of the six in S.T.A.R. Labs, a fictional scientific research facility that is almost considered to be a cornerstone of the DC comics.

Exactly what they’re doing here, though, is anyone’s guess. You’ll notice that Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman has her sword drawn and ready for combat, so we’re inclined to believe that Diana and her superpowered companions – namely Ben Affleck’s Batman and Ezra Miller’s Scarlet Speedster – are either gearing up for a battle against an unseen enemy, or they’ve recently dispatched a small army of goons. Those minions will surely be operating under Steppenwolf, who we know to be the primary antagonist of Zack Snyder (?) and Joss Whedon’s DC ensemble movie.

Ciaran Hinds’ marauding deity will descend upon our planet in search of the all-powerful Mother Boxes, architects from a bygone era that have remained on Earth ever since Darkseid’s war against humanity ended hundreds of years ago. It’s enough to tee up a titanic clash with DC’s finest, who band together in the face of a common enemy. As for this brand new action shot, we’ll surely know a little more about the context behind said scene once Justice League‘s latest trailer lights up Hall H at Comic-Con this weekend.

So, what do you think? Seeing The Flash, Wonder Woman, and Batman all suited and booted is enough to leave our tongues wagging with excitement, but you can, as always, drop your thoughts and comments in the usual place.

Justice League opens on November 17th, and all signs point to Warner Bros. rolling out a new trailer at San Diego Comic-Con. It’s shaping up to be a huge weekend for the DC Extended Universe, too, what with Aquaman and, presumably, Wonder Woman 2 on Warner’s roll call. And that’s before you even factor in the inevitable onslaught of surprises. Stay tuned for more on that front and remember, WB’s panel begins on Saturday, July 22nd at 11:30 am PT.
