Karen Gillan Reacts To The Avengers: Endgame Trailer

Pretty much all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has a grudge against Thanos after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, but for few characters is that gripe more personal than for the Mad Titan’s own adopted daughter Nebula. So when the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame finally emerged online, actress Karen Gillan took the opportunity to remind us that she’ll have some unfinished business to attend to in next year’s release.

Taking to Instagram, Gillan shared an image of the film’s new poster, while throwing down the gauntlet with the following caption:

“Oh it’s ON, Thanos.”

While the Endgame trailer offered a fleeting glimpse of Nebula – who may or may not be stuck with Tony Stark in a broken down ship – it’s still unclear what role the character will be playing in the grand finale of Marvel’s Phase 3, with some fans even speculating that she’ll replace Thanos as the main villain of the movie. So far, Gillan’s hints of what’s to come haven’t gone much beyond her vague tease earlier this year that Nebula has an unexpected new BFF, with Iron Man perhaps looking like the most probable candidate at this point.

What’s more, it sounds like the actress has been kept pretty in the dark herself about the film’s events. Back in October, Gillan mentioned that even she didn’t know the official title of the movie formerly known as Avengers 4, before claiming that she’s never even seen a full script for the film.

“We didn’t even get a script. There was no script,” Gillan said. “Just my scenes. I’d sometimes get them just in the morning, do them, hand them back over at the end of the day. I mean, the directors would fill us in on everything that we needed in terms of context, but still, I don’t know what this movie’s about (laughs).”

It seems that the first Avengers: Endgame trailer may have held almost as many surprises for the cast as the fans, but we’ll all be getting the full picture when the film hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
