Ah, finally. The first look at Leonardo DiCaprio in the upcoming J. Edgar. This Fall, Clint Eastwood is bringing us a fascinating look at the life of Mr. J. Edgar Hoover. Mr. Hoover, of course, was the man who was largely responsible for establishing the FBI.
DiCaprio will be taking the titular role and Armie Hammer, Naomi Watts, Josh Lucas, Judi Dench and Ed Westwick will be backing him up.
Aiming for a November 9th release date, the film will “trace Hoover’s life from his childhood through ascent to power in the 20s, his 50-year reign over the FBI, and death in 1972.”
The talent involved here is simply too strong for this one to fail, Oscar is written all over it. With the people involved in this project, I don’t see it turning out to be anything less than spectacular. Plus, the subject material itself is quite intriguing. Hoover was said to of had a very interesting life and I can’t wait to see how Eastwood brings it to the big screen.
