The Twitter account of Mark Hamill is pretty much the last place you want to go to for reliable intel on the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX, but so long as the fans keep asking questions, the actor will keep finding new opportunities to mess with his followers.

The latest incident came in response to a user who tagged Hamill in a tweet that read, “if they don’t release the title of the film soon, I’m just gonna to have to get it out of [Mark Hamill] myself.” Never one to cave to demands for spoilers, the star responded with a title card announcing the name of the film to be “Star Wars: Episode IX: Thank U, Next.”

For those of you who haven’t been keeping track of Hamill’s various Twitter shenanigans, this one may take a little explaining. Hamill’s fondness for the phrase “Thank U, Next” all began last year when he tweeted the line at the request of his followers, unaware that this was actually the name of a hit single from Ariana Grande.

Since then, Hamill has done a little research on the platinum-selling singer, later saying that he predicts “a very bright future for this young lady” after watching the video for “Thank U, Next.” Along the way, Hamill’s interest in the work and career of Grande has been a source of much delight for his fans, none more so than the singer herself, who upon reading Hamill’s prediction, replied that she was “gonna go sob in a corner and watch all your movies again now.”

But going back to the original question of the film’s official title, it’s a very popular prediction right now that we’ll find out by the end of the month, but regardless of what these next few weeks will bring, you can expect Hamil’s trolling to continue until Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20th, 2019.
