Mark Ruffalo Dropped A Big Avengers: Endgame Spoiler Last Year

Avengers: Endgame star Mark Ruffalo may've dropped a big spoiler for the film last year, though no one realized it at the time.

While half the cast turning to dust as a result of Thanos’ Decimation was certainly hard to witness, it’s also difficult not to feel bad for those who survived the events of Avengers: Infinity War, as they were left behind to contemplate their failure and mourn the loss of their teammates.

But one hero whose pain often gets overlooked is Guardians of the Galaxy star Rocket Raccoon. In fact, he may have actually had it the worst. Not only was his friend Gamora one of the first major casualties, but the rest of his colleagues ended up being disintegrated in the genocidal climax shortly after. It remains to be seen, of course, just what he’ll be up to when Avengers: Endgame rolls around, but at least we know that he’ll develop some new relationships with a few of the remaining heroes.

In an interview with USA Today conducted last year, before Infinity War came out, spoiler king Mark Ruffalo revealed that the Hulk and Rocket will develop a friendship in an upcoming Avengers movie, saying:

“It’s a very funny relationship that the two of them have: First of all, it’s the biggest superhero and the smallest. Just keeping them in a frame together is a feat and hilarious in itself.”

Now, given that the two characters didn’t share any scenes in IW, it stands to reason that Ruffalo was speaking about Endgame here and being his usual spoiler-happy self. Then again, with how much time has passed between now and when this interview was conducted, it’s entirely possible that Hulk and Rocket’s scenes have been cut – but let’s hope not.

After all, seeing an odd couple like these two teaming up would be a lot of fun and again, given how many friends Rocket lost in Infinity War, he could definitely use some support from the other heroes in Avengers: Endgame.
