As it stands, we’ve yet to find out which comic book character is being brought to the big screen by the Jon Snow actor, or for that matter, which film or films he’s scheduled to appear in. For all we know, Harington could be just another one-movie villain, though Marvel fans have already started speculating that he might be filling Hugh Jackman’s shoes as the next Wolverine. But regardless of who Harington ends up playing, it seems that the mere idea of him becoming an official member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is sufficient cause for celebration over on Twitter:

Between news of Harington’s casting and this weekend’s D23 Expo, it’s been a busy couple of days for MCU stories. At yesterday’s panel, for instance, we received confirmation on the recent reports that She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight all have Disney Plus shows on the way.

What’s more, the weekend is far from over, and you can expect plenty more Marvel news later today. Though the MCU’s Phase 4 was officially announced at last month’s San Diego Comic-Con, fans are still waiting to hear about the inevitable Captain Marvel and Black Panther sequels, among other highly anticipated projects. It’s quite possible that Kevin Feige and his team will even clarify who Harington is playing within the next few hours, but either way, stay tuned for what’s sure to be an eventful day.
