As if things aren’t confusing enough already, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will now feature two characters also named Marvel. And given how much small-minded fanboys dislike Captain Marvel, it seems likely that they won’t dig Ms. Marvel.
The latter is most known for being the first Muslim superhero to headline her own comic book and now, she’s reportedly getting her own live-action TV series on Disney Plus. We Got This Covered was the first outlet to report on this earlier in the month, as we heard that the show was in development from our sources. Now, it’s about to become a reality.
Though it remains to be seen if Mindy Kaling has anything to do with putting the production together, the show will definitely be a huge step forward for the studio. Kevin Feige said earlier this year that diversity and representation are the future of the MCU and this would definitely prove that he’s serious about that.
British writer Bisha K. Ali has been tapped to pen the scripts for Ms. Marvel and and act as showrunner. The comedian, for those unfamiliar, is currently a staff writer on Hulu’s remake of Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Big names stars have long been advocating for Kamala Khan to get her own vehicle and it sounds like it’s happening at last. While it would’ve been awesome to see the character receive a film, it’s at least something that the Muslim superhero will have the chance front her own standalone television show. It’s currently unknown whether or not she’ll factor into any of the MCU movies, but fans are holding out hope that she will. If the series does well, then Khan could go on to surpass even Captain Marvel in terms of popularity.
Details are still continuing to pour in about this exciting new show, but keep checking We Got This Covered for the latest information about Ms. Marvel as well as everything else associated with Disney Plus and the MCU.
