The new trailer for the alternate universe animation is going down a storm with fans thanks to the film’s vibrant visuals and beloved characters. And on top of that, Sony have also shared a new poster for the pic. Uploaded by its official Twitter account, the print recreates one of the trailer’s most memorable visuals from a new and disorienting angle.

Seen in the gallery below, in the mask here is Miles Morales, voiced by Shameik Moore, who’s donning his patented black-and-red outfit under a hoodie as he free-falls through New York.

Morales won’t be the only web-slinger in the movie, of course. The teenager is being mentored by none other than the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker, played by Jake Johnson and looking older and scruffier than we’ve ever seen him on the big screen before. Then there’s Hailee Steinfeld playing the suited-up Gwen Stacy. Speaking of which, the fact that the trailer name-drops Comic-Con immediately after introducing Spider-Gwen all but confirms that this one’s built to make longtime fans salivate.

The film is produced by The LEGO Movie duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and while recently expressing their excitement at bringing audiences a new version of Spider-Man, here’s what they had to say:

We can’t wait for the world to see Miles Morales on the big screen. He’s such a fun and exciting new character, and telling his story through a revolutionary visual style makes for a totally fresh cinematic experience that, if we may say so, is freaking amazing.

We’ll find out if Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse lives up to the hype when it drops into cinemas December 14th, 2018.
