New Fantastic Four Fan Art Envisions Dave Franco As The Human Torch

With the merger between The Walt Disney Company and 21st Century Fox teetering on completion, it won’t be long before Deadpool, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four are returned to their rightful owner. And given the abhorrent reception to the reboot of the latter, directed by Josh Trank, I’m sure Marvel's eager to get another crack at transitioning the superhuman supergroup from comic book to the big screen.

However, the House of Mouse still has quite a bit of ground to cover before we go planning a viewing party. That said, one can forgive the fanbase for getting overexcited. After all, the Fantastic Four have yet to receive a proper adaptation and taking into account the unprecedented triumph of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the pending amalgamation will undoubtedly provide Reed, Susan, Ben and Johnny their best chance at success yet.

Although, should everything go according to plan, it does stand to reason that The Walt Disney Company will be looking to recast the titular supergroup. What with the adverse experience Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell all endured, I’m sure they wouldn’t be interested in the project. And as luck would have it, the very same overexcited fanbase, as you might expect, does have a suggestion, or two.

Last month, a Twitter user generously provided a Fantastic Four character poster, in which he envisioned John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic himself, Reed Richards. And now, found in the heart of the Marvel Studios subreddit, Redditor savagecomics has depicted Dave Franco as Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch, which you can check out below.

While John Krasinski certainly has my vote for Reed Richards, I’m still unsure of how I feel about Franco in the role of Johnny Storm. Should Disney and Marvel look to recast the Fantastic Four, though, does the actor have your vote to portray the Human Torch? Be sure to let us know in the comments section below.
