New Toy Story 4 Photo And Plot Details Tease What’s To Come

Even in this era where franchises are practically obligated to keep going until the magic is gone, many fans were surprised and disappointed to hear that Pixar was at work on Toy Story 4 after the third movie brought such poignant closure to the series. And while it’s likely that most of these detractors will be checking out the fourth installment anyway, you do have to wonder what stories are still left to tell for the old gang.

Fortunately, it seems we may have some fresh details on the movie courtesy of a new Russian calendar (which is proving to be a surprisingly informative source when it comes to upcoming Disney sequels). According to Instagram user mmdisney200, the calendar’s Toy Story 4 page has a synopsis that translates as follows:

“Since Andy went to college, toys have moved to a new house where a small girl named Bonnie lives. Her first day in kindergarten will put a beginning to adventures and meeting new toys, some of the old friends and even a romantic story.”

On top of that, the calendar also came with an image, which sees Woody and Buzz alongside anxious newcomer Forky and notable Toy Story 3 no-show Bo Peep.

While the third Toy Story managed to wrap up the saga quite neatly for the most part, it must be said that Bo Peep’s journey was left strangely unresolved, with her absence being explained away in just a couple of lines of dialogue. The return of Annie Potts’ character therefore seems like a pretty fitting way to continue the series if Pixar insists on doing so, and it could be interesting to see how these years of separation have affected her.

In any case, we’ll find out what adventures await these old and new faces when Toy Story 4 hits theaters on June 21st, 2019.
