Infusing the zany comedy of Red with the John Wick franchise – Bruce Willis’ cute little pup, Buddy, has somehow wound up in the hands of a formidable drug dealer played by Aquaman‘s Jason Momoa – the first promo for Once Upon a Time in Venice dials the action up to 11, and rips the knob off right around the time when Willis’ down-but-not-out private investigator Steve Ford is seen jumping off a balcony into a nearby pool. And that’s not even the most ridiculous thing you’ll find in the teaser above.

Behind the lens, Once Upon a Time in Venice heralds a creative reunion between Bruce Willis and the Cullens, who penned the script for 2010 comedy Cop Out. That should give you some indication of what to expect with this latest creative venture, but the trailer above really paints the picture. Also starring Taken stalwart Famke Janssen, John Goodman, Kal Penn and Thomas Middleditch, the official synopsis for Robb and Mark Cullen’s B-movie is as follows:

Steve Ford (Bruce Willis) is a down but not out L.A based Private Investigator whose professional and personal worlds collide after his loving pet Buddy is stolen by a notorious gang. A series of crazy circumstances find him doing the gang’s bidding, while being chased by two vengeful Samoan brothers, a loan shark’s goons, and a few other shady characters. They say a dog is a man’s best friend, and Steve shows how far a man will go to be reunited with him.

Look for Once Upon a Time in Venice to slam into select theaters on June 16th.
