Beyond that, the minuscule hero is due to return for Joe and Anthony Russo’s Captain America Civil War, and over the weekend the director hinted that Scott Lang’s second appearance will be much bigger – literally – than his debut.

“Listen, I think with Hank Pym and Scott Lang, and with that technology, I think it’s safe to say at some point somewhere you’re going to see some real growth…,” said Reed, pausing to look at the camera before continuing, “…for that character. I hedge my bet there, because it could be sort of growth as a human being, emotional growth, or literal giant growth. There’s a good chance of that.”

Powered by the Pym Particles tech, Lang may have the ability to reverse engineer the shrinking process to become Giant-Man, a super-sized version of his ass-kicking hero that stands at around 15 feet tall. Of course, it remains to be seen whether Marvel will venture down this creative path, though going off of Reed’s response in the interview with Screen Junkies confirms that at the very least, the concept has been raised in conversation.

Whatever the case, Paul Rudd is indeed reprising his role as the malleable hero for Captain America: Civil War, where he will rub shoulders with a star-studded cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen, Frank Grillo, Chadwick Boseman, Jeremy Renner, Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie, along with Tom Holland in his first appearance as Spider-Man.
